It's the weirdest and also the simplest experimental proof of something that seems really fucked up. So it's a real phenomenon. Anyone who had any doubts about whether that was made up bullshit better check google maps. But then when you try to learn about, they make you walk though all kinds of really complicated math jesus fucking christ. In restrospect, all of that convoluted math is really more akin to copernican theory. It "works" in the sense that it has predictive value (coperinican theory lasted for like 1,200 years until a comet pwned it), but it's still complicated as fuck.
edit geocentric/ptolemaic, not copernican, I forget who said what in what order, but that was the old one that worked for a long time |
