They actually are deceptively hot. They’re really small and I was excited when my first pepper was ripe so I just grabbed the little guy and took a bite expecting it to be manageable and then immediately started sweating and spent the next 10 minutes coughing and flailing around my kitchen drinking milk and beer like “oh no oh no why did I do that”

Next year grow shishito peppers too & report back. Give them like 10 days of no water in heat of summer to stress them & you get better flavor (works for most peppers)
