3. Mexico City isn't a state, but it is in Edomex (Estado de Mexico) or the "State of Mexico". Edomex is significantly more dangerous than Yucatan and while I think CDMX is one of the best large cities in the world, from a crime perspective Merida is much safer. |

If you actually visited Merida (the largest city in the state) you would see tons of Guardia Nacional all over the place in addition to regular police.
No one is going to the Yucatan for beach holidays except locals. The beaches you're thinking about are in Quintana Roo, which also has much more crime. In fact, you probably got these two states entirely mixed up. |

Panamanians and Colombians are also easy to understand, while Mexicans speak at 90mph and no one can understand a goddamn thing they say. Colombians are also more religious in my experience, and more old fashioned about a lot of shit. It's almost like Victorian England over there. Like if you don't bring flowers on a first date in Colombia, you lose.
