He has a fair point about Octavian. The latter rose to power essentially by exploiting the triumphs of others with sheer cunning, whereas Antony had already proven himself to be a great commander and charismatic manipulator in politics. Then again, Octavian was eventually a superior statesman compared to the self-indulgent Antony |
