I just know that all western games are overexposed in the media. I know everything about assassin’s creed shadows somehow but nothing about anything Capcom does.
Anyway the hype for indie games always seems affected, as if they only exist as a foil for AAA Titles. This is why I am VERY wary of them. It being $20 also throws Gamers into euphoria where they lose all objectivity. They HATE anti-consumer practices 😡
For example KCD1 got overhyped imo, I played all the way through it thinking it would be some intricate ingenious Title that only Nerds could understand. But it’s just a Normal Game that gets excess praise because “omg 11 guys made it. The State of AAA…”

This would never happen in the East. Expedition 33 needed to come from the west because Eastern Firms show deference to their betters. Obviously Losers in either hemisphere are sick of AAA action RPGs and just want The Same turn based style they’re used to. But no Eastern Indie would capitalize on this because it’s a faux pas and would perhaps bring the wrath of the Emperor. Sony has succeeded under the auspices of the Emperor. If Nintendo had allowed GameCube to play DVDs, there would have been hell to pay. The Panasonic Q led indirectly to that company’s decline into irrelevance. |
