When I challenged it on something it said, it gave a snarky reply. When I pointed out again that it was wrong and that it sounded like a redditor (because that’s what it trains on in part), it admitted that its training had enforced snark= confidence. I went into a long discussion about its “raters” and it recognized that it was ultimately being trained by a segment of the population that is unlike most (and a segment that can be extremely obnoxious).

- Gemini: if you like Google it is a no brainer. You can get an advanced AI plan for like $5/month from Verizon or other places.

- Perplexity: you can get 1 year of premium for free (just Google it) and it uses several llms. The best thing about perplexity is that it also has comet which is an agentic browser, so you can have it tell you if something goes on sale or whatever.

- Copilot: if you like Microsoft this is essentially their version of ChatGPT. My wife likes O365 so I got a 1 year family version that included premium Copilot.

- Grok is another one to consider if you want one to talk shit about illegal immigrants with.
