In Tehran's intelligence circles, rumors have surged dramatically:
-Some believe that Vahidi wants to kill Qalibaf and Araghchi with a "drone" and pin the blame on Israel.
-The ruinous mouse (Mojtaba, that mouse of Ali) is in a coma due to severe injuries, has no power over anything, and Vahidi remains the regime's all-powerful figure, effectively the current ruler of the regime.
-Vahidi has decided to resist and is in no way willing to engage in negotiations. |

If this is accurate, Vahidi isn't even going to give Trump a face-saving way out. And since Trump values his reputation as a master deal-maker, I suspect this war will go on a long time. I expect to see a lot of empty threats and TACOs to come, but I don't see Trump allowing Vahidi to rub his face in the dirt- his ego is too big for that. |

The IRGC was never going to accept anything they brought back and it was all just kabuki to make Trump look desperate and flailing. The most interesting figure is Qaani. He seemed pretty cooked when the Mossad rumors got super loud during the first couple weeks of the war, but the Iraqi militias are like his super power that protects him. It would make sense if Vahidi becomes the coordinator of the kleptocratic apparatus and primary sock puppeteer for Mojtaba but Qaani assumes the role of leading the purely belligerent soul of the IRGC/Commander of the Axis of Resistance.
