My whole house smelled like plastic/chemicals the first few times we used it.
Also the basket is very difficult to clean if you put anything in it other than oil (I followed some broccoli recipe with soy sauce - I spent 20 minutes trying to get black stuff out of all of the grooves).
Ours is really loud. Not sure if they all are. If you have ttt open floor plan, it’s like having a lawnmower on indoors for 15 minutes.
Takes up a lot of room in cabinet.
In hindsight, using “speed convect” or similar setting on regular oven if you have a <10yo one will get you most of the way there.

Get the ninja double basket one - its really easy to clean.
At the very least, its useful as an oven that gets hot almost immediately.

GLP1 bro here
They can be useful, but they take up space and usually don’t produce better results than traditional pans, pots and ovens IMO. I have one but can live without it
To cook well all you really need is a good oven (with convection setting), a good selection of stainless steel pans, and one or two good cast iron skillets. I use a nice pan (cast iron or stainless steel) daily. I use my oven multiple times week, with sheet pans. I use my air fryer a couple of times a month at most.
