After watching 500 Metroid videos on YouTube, my curiosity was piqued. Got Samus Returns for 3DS. I cannot play the game for more than like 45 minutes without being like “fuck this” and putting it down. Had the same experience with Super Metroid in 1995.
Also I have Huge Hands so using a handheld for an action game sucks. 7” dick btw.
A lot of Nintendo games are like this. There are very few that are addictive enough to hook you the way that western Scumgineers strive to get gamers hooked on their insipid, predatory shovelware.

in the 80s, Metroid was the only one of the super longform 'epic' games I could tolerate. i absolutely hated 'Zelda.'
then post NES/SNES, when 'games' started getting super complicated, and took like 5 weeks of daily effort to 'play,' I dropped video games entirely. that shit is gay. i hate to even imagine the state of things today.
these kids are playing 'games' like it's a full time job.

NES Metroid - maybe cool at the time but really hard to play now, confusing layout easy to get lost, still worth playing
Game Boy - Metroid II: Return of Samus - same issues as NES but cooler atmosphere and worth playing imo especially the colorized version
Super Nintendo - Super Metroid 180 GOATED game and still holds up today
Nintendo GameCube: Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes - Didn't play these, looked lame
Game Boy Advance: Metroid Fusion, Metroid: Zero Mission - Both 10/10 masterpieces
Nintendo DS: Metroid Prime Pinball, Metroid Prime: Hunters - Didn't play this shovelware shit
Wii: Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Metroid: Other M - Didn't play, looked. Trash
Nintendo 3DS: Metroid Prime: Federation Force - utter shit, Metroid: Samus Returns - excellent game
Nintendo Switch: Metroid Dread - 180 game, Metroid Prime 4 - looks really bad

Prime 1 sold a lot, Prime 2-4 didn’t. Nintendo fans don’t take the hint that it sucked and was forcememed bc GameCube was on the cusp of Ruin and it was T-rated, so fans and reviewers all worshiped it despite the lack of entertainment value
Same thing with FF8 selling a lot bc of FF7. FF9 didn’t sell as well because people felt burned out after FF8
MGS2 sold like crazy bc of MGS1. MGS3’s sales were way lower because the common Scum hated raiden
I can make this point 100 times on the internet and the common shitlib NPCs will say it’s because of The Economy and their favorite game actually isn’t hated by legions of Scum.

Prime 1 sold 3 million copies, e.i. only 1 out 7 Gamecube owners even owned it.
Prime 2 sold 1 million copies.
Prime 3 sold 1.5 which is preposterous failure considering even my Grandma owned Wii so that she could do Wii Fit exercises
What were they even thinking making a Prime 4
