Yes, textualist originalism was a funny little fad judicial philosophy of the late 80s and early 90s, but it quickly fell out of favor once Alito arrived and formed his alliance with Thomas, so that his Twitter-brained approach could dominate the future of Anglo-American jurisprudence.

He's basically responsible for the modern Supreme Court oral argument practice, the modern approach to both constitutional and statutory interpretation, the reigning jurisprudence for, among other things, standing, the Free Exercise Clause, the Confrontation Clause, and the Takings Clause, the framework for executive power from a single dissent that is about to become the law of the law, and the single greatest defender of the social conservative legal movement on the Court, in addition to lines (elephants don't hide in mouseholes, this wolf comes as a wolf, etc.) that continue to dominate SCOTUS discourse but sure he's a nobody.
