Musk is 180 and that fact that he got something - ANYTHING - built in CA is a testament to his willpower and genius.
This probably has more to do with the crooked city council than anything else.

30 minutes is a lot. 80,000 take the blue line from ORD now. Probably at least 2-3x that if you include the taxis and Uber. 200,000 people per day = 100,000 man-hours * $20/hr = $2M per day saved.
Plus you reduce a lot of Uber traffic on I90.
Anyway, the point is it's all private funding, so why the hell not. If Elon can't turn a profit, who cares. Not sure why anyone would oppose it.

I don't know what the actual stats are (just going by the article). But the point is this is privately funded. Even if only 1000 people take it, that's still 1000 less in the sardine car or on the freeway.
