AI will replace most entry level jobs. It is far better and cheaper than some unskilled 22 year old. Entry level jobs in white collar professions are extremely hard to find right now. More broadly, if you combine crashing private sector jobs with declining public sector employment there really aren't a lot of options. If you get fired or laid off in this economy, you may never find meaningful work in your sector again unless you take a massive pay cut.

Why are we still trying to prop up a facade of Fake Jobs. Just pay Losers and proles a monthly stipend and strap us into the AI Holodeck pods already ffs.

The jobs aren’t as inherently fake as people think. A lot of them are just badly done, and orgs are less efficient than they should be bc they’d rather hire 6 90 IQ URMs/Women than one Loser with no OCI/law review/coif/athletic scholarship. Like the FBI closed cases one month after someone reports Nicolas Cruz to them for no reason because they suck not because they’re “fake.”

Also when you look at stonks, the market wants growth, it would rather a Firm have a plan to grow than have higher profits in the short term from firing Losers. They could probably just grow and fire Losers but maybe not. Look at western AAA Studios. Their budgets, my god. I can’t imagine them running lean.

It’s not AI because AI hasn’t done shit yet. It’s that there was insane overstimulus in the economy for 2 years, then higher interest rates for the last 3 years which take forever to have an actual impact.

IMO you don’t understand Time.

Past: Overstimulus, redditors with 500k “tc”

Now: job market Frozen but unemployment still isn’t high and millennials haven’t gotten fired yet lkke Gen Xers did in ITE

Possible future: AI Ruination

Yes a lot of it is interest rates and offshoring. AI has a small impact. MIT had a report that 95% of AI startup businesses/projects fail, at least with currently available models.

I think Salesforce is the only big company I’ve seen say they won’t hire new folks and instead use AI. Rest are either not hiring at all or are just hiring Pajeet

It's not AI it's immigration and outsourcing

There are literally more bodies than jobs available because of mass immigration and outsourcing. Right now there are officially more unemployed people in America than there are job openings. Unofficially, much more than that

we're going to eventually wind up in a place where most average proles are on a universal basic income provided by the government and skilled/smart/creative people have the ability to pursue their work and make lots of money. it's going to be bumpy road getting there though. next few years should be particularly bad.

how the fuck is it "blackpilling" to point out the obvious fact that AI is going to revolutionize society? idiot. for stupid people (e.g., you): this has nothing to do with MAGA or donald trump. this is going to happen no matter who is in the white house.

You guys always assume that everyone gets invited to the party. When has that ever been the case? Economic throes will impact Losers. They may expand Medicaid for URMs. They may create AI Safety sinecures for Women. I mean how can you look at the world and think “they will provide us The Same paycheck” when they never happens? There are Cliques. AI will lead to bigger and better stadiums and will facilitate sports betting and AAA microtransactions.

yea but this is a situation where millions of people are going to be unemployed and unemployable. they're going to have to be put on some kind of welfare plan or else they'll be homeless and rioting in the streets.

or maybe the effect of AI is being overstated. i don't think that's the case though.

AI pipe dreams soaking up too much capital is a larger issue short term. very reminiscent of dotcom era whose shadow we still live in. VCs leveraged to the hilt on dogshit, public companies drinking their own urine to sustain their berserker rage (aka buybacks). will bush do another 9/11?
