It is stale and doesn’t hold up well; the sexualization of Stevie is disturbing, the father figure as idiot and the mother figure as wise is really played out. I also feel bad for Meg now, which is kind of funny. I remember when Family Guy was cutting edge meta irony, but this highlights the nature of enatiodromia: anything pushed to its extreme ultimately inverts into its opposite. Meta irony was an extreme form of societal humor, so it’s no surprise that it eventually inverted into where we are now: the desire for authenticity, no irony. I guess Fox keeps it on air like The Simpsons which is also dead and zombified; I don’t understand why Bob’s Burgers is on air though, it has never had an audience.
sometimes i need to decompress with stupid stuff. i watched the latest Dancing with the Stars halloween episode too, it was good. Robert Irwin is an amazing dancer although he has a serious case of the gayface
