CC was a lot friendlier, but PR was super wild and crazy. Until it became censored and it migrated here. Then the real Wild West took off. |

PR had no registration and you could just post, author line was editable just like e-mail and subject. josh lewis was the paid mod and didn't take the job very seriously. later jeff adams was a catty gay queerbag who did. eventually they moved to Vbulletin and that pissed everyone off so Rach being an enterprising jew figured out how to recreate the old board and xo was born.

I spent the entire time on the PR board, which I found by accident searching for rankings, law school advice, etc. Was on and off xo through law school. You could see it up on multiple people’s screens during class. Now our summer associates are robotic weirdos and it’s so disappointing. Took ~8 years off as a sometimes lurker. Poasted a lot 2013-CXII. Hardly poast now—busy with kids, bort is much less interesting, and I now work at a firm that definitely would not look kindly on me doing this on the work comp that I’m in front of 14 hours/day. Sometime in 1999-2000. Got suckered in giving advice about applying to colleges. Then the law board emerged and I was taking the LSATs and it took off from there.
Some great years. I'd think the 2003-2006 era was peak. A PP commented it's a rare place for unfiltered thoughts. I agree. Which is probably why I still glance at it once a day like a terminal addict who can't ever quite give up cigarettes. Like cigarettes, most of the time it's trash and you know it tastes like shit and does you no good, but once in a moon it really hits the spot. Xoxohth is the online version.
