For me The Grand Budapest Hotel was the last one I saw. I thought it was too up itself at the time. It was so overwrought and overdone. I even thought Darjeerling Limited was was boring. After his first couple of films this stuff got pretty stale.

Come to find he kept making the same movie over and over again and there's now an interminable number of these things out there. For the love of God why, people? Why? Are any of them not exact replicas of his prior work at this point? Does anybody watch these things?

I can't imagine what kind of Reddit tier neckbeard sees the trailer for the next one and goes OH MY GOD TAKE MY MONEY NOW.

If you look at the budgets and revenues of these movies they often make twice as much money as they spent to make the thing. That being said they don't include the marketing and promotional costs anywhere which is typically the same amount as the cost of the film. If true then nearly everything he does just breaks even.

Asteroid City was maybe the worst movie I’ve ever seen objectively if boredom could be monitored physiologically

They do all have very different stories and themes (except for the nature of authorship, which is in most), even if the style is extremely consistent. And even the style moves forward.
