Need your thoughts on whether Judge Marra overturning the Epstein NPA on the grounds it violated victims rights per 2004 Congressional law (which never stipulated a remedy for prosecutors who do not confer with victims). Would this ever have held up on appeal? Seems preposterous that NPA would not be adhered to.
US attorney BJ Pak filed a brief saying that the agreement ought to have been upheld. Marra overturned it anyway. Epstein gets picked up two weeks later, dies, and a couple months later Marra reverses himself, saying the NPA couldn't be overturned. He essentially paved the way for the SDNY complaint. Government kidnaps, murders Epstein. Then he overrules himself, NPA back in place, all coconspirators covered. Odd case.
