Never purchased a bond before this but I assume it will outperform HYSAs relatively soon

Note: you still haven't purchased a bond. Bond funds are retarded. Buy individual munis that you can hold until maturity/redemption

us treasuries may be better than munis for someone depending on their tax situation

but otherwise agree 100%

Whenever I owned BND it would not go up when normal stocks were going up (obvious), but would also still go down when normal stocks tanked. Seemed pretty pointless.

sorta feel like it was SPS too when i had it in past, in 2022 it even lost 13% which is insane

GSY or SGOV are better prob

i only bought cause since rates will go down BND usually goes up

on fri it went up in trumps rout

With rising interest rates value of bond fund goes down and you are constantly in a struggle with your yield be chipped away by capital losses.

Whereas if you buy an actual bond and interest rates go up you can just hold to maturity and keep your promised yield (obviously there is more DEFAULT RISK there, but you can just buy shorter - medium term bonds).
