My mother was bugging me at Thanksgiving to talk to this family friend in her early 20s who graduated from Rutgers and is currently working in psych research at a hospital. She’s almost debt free but wants to make more, and her family is encouraging med or law school.

Apparently they toured Fordham and really liked it but balked at the 120k sticker price. They were also unaware of the new federal student loan caps, but when I told them they were fine with using outside private lenders.

How do I convince them they’re making a terrible mistake and should only do TTT with scholarships? This has happened once before with another older family friend who still blames me for being in crippling debt from some fake MYMASTERS program at Columbia, even though I also advised against that.
