Golf bros, took my iron striking to the next level this weekend

Finally realized my hands were too far forward with anything longer than 9i
Neutralized my hand placement at setup, even closing the club face a little. It looked and felt weird at first but everything went straight (pulled slightly left with a few degrees of fade)
My instructor probably couldn't figure this out because his view is always behind the swing
Then at the end I added the Harvey Penick forward press motion into my take back; but extremely subtle (see Ludvig Aberg for example)
Somehow this added like 10-15 yards of carry while keeping the same baby fade and trajectory (probably from optimizing tempo and easier to hinge trail wrist)
TL;DR: I sucked at hitting irons for like 3 months and neutralizing my hand/ball placement fixed everything |

Saw better results with the dg 105 and kbs ctaper lite than the modus 105 and 120 or the PX IO from mid weight shafts.
