Soliders in the army face mandatory retirement at 62.

This means there were almost certainly some soldiers who served in both Vietnam and Iraq/Afghanistan.

Time is weird.

You can still volunteer to work in hospice and talk to the ones with no family nearby who are dying from agent orange-induced leukemia. They'll tell you about all kinds of shit, since they're dying anyway and you seem willing to listen. Call your local VA hospital and ask about volunteering.

“Gook pussy,” the grizzled old veteran started, “especially terrified gook pussy, is delicious. But I wouldn’t want it every day for the rest of my life.”

When I was in Iraq with the National Guard (often a lot of older guys), I had two guys just in my platoon who were Vietnam veterans. Great guys. Fonts of wisdom.
