Jesse moved to Nashville, issued a brief apology, and is on a big tour once again. It's been 8 years.

I never understood it tbh. It's not on the level of his other work. No idea why people forcememe this as great.

im with you. i give it a spin maybe once a year and always leave with the feeling it's try-hard and sort of insists upon itself. not a single memorable guitar riff. but i still dont hate it.

I'm such a pretentious snob I even think Side B of The Devil and God is overrated. I don't love Luca, You Won't Know, Welcome to Bangkok. And all those songs are better than anything on Daisy.

Shut up and play the hits! You can watch the live show and tell where the crowd gets extremely bored during the deep cuts. I can't stand that shit. Just go banger after banger.

Jesse has never been one to just play his most well known songs. Like at the time he went into hiding he hadn't played The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows in over a year of touring. I get that artists get sick of playing their hit and shit. At the Deep Ellum show there were several hits he didn't play like Sic Transit Gloria, Limousine, Millstone, Can't Get It Out, etc. If you watch the show on YouTube there are long segments where the crowd tunes out and is kind of confused.

Those songs you mentioned blur together because they don't have a melodic or lyrical hook that really sticks with you. The gap between his best songs and his average song is massive.

That would be really cool. I think though that right now there's just too much controversy. It looks like this mini tour is set up to gauge how much fan interest there is. His Spotify numbers are excellent. Looks like show tickets are going for around $50 which is on the low side. Millennials are Poor.

I think he should come out with a new album next year, tour it, and see if it does well. I don't think he'd be invited to When We Were Young right now. Still too much heat on him. That may die down. I think majority of fans are ready to forgive and move on but Millennial rock fans are like the prime MeToo demographic and I think he's still got a lot of bridges to mend. I'm for his return but I think it will take time to heal.

Ummm they were between 15 and 17. And they just hung out with him on his tour bus while he played WoW. No one ever claimed he fucked them. They just felt like he was emotionally manipulative and I guess he tried to kiss one of them. Their parents were around the entire time like it wasn't all duplicitous. I think one of these Millennial shrews, now 30+, was saying that when he started to take heat from being around her he cut her off without explanation and that's what she was most upset about.

None of this is great per se but he was like 23 and most of his fans were teenage girls. None of us have ever been a 23 year old rock star. There's no manual for it. I don't think he was ever actually banging them seems like he wanted to but thought it was a bad idea.

If there was a manual, pretty sure rule number one would be don’t screw around with underage girls. Obviously doesn’t apply to classic rock scumbags, but if you’re a preachy emo band you gotta toe the line imo.

Why do classic rock bands get a pass?

Other emo bands were worse. Some went to prison. Some just didn't get caught.

Jesse grew out of it he has a normal family now.
