Always like to hear what people are puttering around with these days.

I recently got a R8 Les Paul Custom Shop in December that is my endgame guitar. Its simply stunning looking too, like a piece of art, and it sounds so damn good. Got it for cheap from a starving artist dude too.

I am an early adopter to the Helix Stadium XL (upgrade from the Line 6 Helix), it is fucking awesome, although not a huge upgrade from the original Helix yet. Although the new amps clearly "feel" better and sound a bit better. Also way easier to dial in tones with some really cool interface features they have. Apparently amp profiling is coming to the unit in March, we shall see - never messed around with NAM or profiles before but I hear they are superior

Ordered a Behringer Pro 800, which is a Sequential Prophet 6 synthesizer clone I think, but Sweetwater says its on backorder until like this summer or something due to supply chain and tariffs

Pretty much done with guitars. Might get a Les Paul Black Beauty or a Kramer Nightswan with blue lightning finish but in no hurry https://www.kennellykeysmusic.com/shop/c/p/Kramer-NightSwan-Vivian-Campbell-Signature-Lightning-wCase-1987-1989---Used-x400010892.htm?srsltid=AfmBOoqWN-VxkM1iTa6bmMlCB0qWjT7DEX6NeReqcdDcRdOmDHSaORTk

I adore the Nightswan but don’t love where the pickups are. My pick runs into them a lot. Same reason why I don’t like the black beauty (I’ve owned an Epiphone one). 3 pickups is so crowded.

sorry I missed this!!

Always thought the nightswan was fucking sick, ever since i was a kid. Might have put up a Kramer Nightswan ad from Guitar World on my wall when I was a teenager. I think that the lightning bolt finish is the coolest shit ever, but I would get that some people would find an airbrushed lightning bolt corny.

Yeah they have a weird pickup configuration, especially being that I mostly play the neck pickup. I read and saw some online demos that the "middle" doesn't sound like a typical middle pickup though, more like an in between of a neck and middle.

Also I've tried the Nightswan "ReRelease" - they just feel like a sort of cheapo Jackson or something, not that cool at all. Apparently the OGs are way nicer and heavier (and they haven't released the lightning finish on the new ones!)

Not all Black Beauties have three HBs

Hnnnng tell me more about the new helix. I had the OG but sold it for a powered kemper so I could use it seamlessly with a cab. My problem is I just use other people’s profiles so I’m tempted by the newer tech of the helix, particularly the ability to use it as a vocal processor at the same time. OTOH all the SCREEENS makes me think it’s too complex and I’m just going to spend all my time tweaking.

As far as GAS, just bought the most beautiful Charvel San Dimas. This is my second Floyd guitar, and first one with a floating trem. Also my first maple fretboard. Sounds wonderful, although the bass pickup is a little flubby. https://www.charvel.com/gear/guitars?color=aqua-flake

One thing that helix stadium has is called focus view. It’s for any effect or amp. Basically an XY axis that you can drag your finger around to quickly get a setting changed

I saw a video with a dude doing guitar, bass and vocals on one helix

The screens make it easier imo.

I’ve always loved San Dumas guitars, that one is sick

I have no need for any additional gear. Might get IEM for gigs. Thinking about getting an envelope filter pedal. The ehx microsynth pedal is ok but I’m having trouble getting super usable synth tones. Feel like separate octave, fuzz and envelope pedals might do a better job.

Name the synths

I own a Roland fantom, an Arturia Polybrute, and a behringer deep mind desktop, in addition to a bunch of vst synths

your recent behringer threading combined with a couple of videos got me itching to do something like:

MPC Live II

Novation Bass Station II

Behringer Poly D

yamaha reface cs

i had done some research for two pedals. One was definitely a boss reverb, but I forget the other
