Players have to pay / plan 100% of their travel themselves. Tournaments are a full week commitment. If you don’t make the cut you get $0.

Holy shit they have to plan their own travel?? Ljl WHAT. I've worked with my admin for 20 years and she's incredible but I still tell her exactly what flights and hotel I want. Travelmos can't leave that stuff in the hands of amateurs.

It’s more mentally and physically exerting than any sport except maybe football and they only play 17 games a year

lol yes it is. 100% travel away from your family, 6 hour rounds where every fuckup can cost you tens of thousands of dollars, hours spent practicing on top of that, finding time to work out.

NBA players get to just jump around on the playground for less than an hour before going back to smoking weed and playing video Games. Hitting off an mlb pitcher is hard as fuck, but mlb players do like 27 minutes of actual work in a given game and spend the rest of the time scratching their balls and figuring out how they’re going to beat their next ped test

Football is mostly just standing in another persons way for four seconds every other minute. Kind of a joke compared to golf tbh.

yep, just have a 320 pound steroid freak try to run you over every 40 seconds for a few hours. or if you're Athletic you can actually get the ball from time to time and get leveled by those same guys and have 40 seconds to recover before you get do it again.

There is more time spent showing clips of coaches on sidelines than the players spend actually playing. It’s not a “a few hours.”

imagine pulling all nighters in jones day cubicles for 50 years until you start hallucinating about how clause 5.2 connects to 7.6, occasionally reminiscing about your unremarkable run as your high school golf team's shitty deadweight anchor

The record for the most consecutive eligible tournaments played on the Senior PGA Tour is held by Dana Quigley with 278 consecutive tournaments played between 1997 and 2005. Additionally, Quigley holds the record for the most tournaments played in a single season with 39 in 2000.

twist: he was a high functioning alcoholic during the streak and playing was his way of managing himself.
