Visited a casino for the first time. It was pretty grim.

I had no idea how to get started so I had to ask a lot of really dumb questions of the people working the table games. Everyone in there seemed like they really knew their way around.
Which brings me to the clientele. It was a bunch of dead eyed, older proles. Tons of middle aged black dudes. Tons of white retirees. No one looked excited, no one looked happy. They just sat there grinding away at games and slot machines. Kind of like they were hooked up to the Matrix.
Anyway, despite a ton of marketing, this place was not glamorous whatsoever. People talk about casinos opening like it will be some big boon for a city, but I don't see what the big deal is. |
