I can actually work day shifts from overseas if I agree to get paid about 60% per hour of what I make in usa overnight. So which country best to actually live?

Nyc is all fake "elite". Finally watched breakfast at Tiffany's on a plane from turkey. Have no idea why that movie ever got any credit, basically cheap movie about a stupid whore that I'd expect out of bollywood. Right now in Central Park I see a 60yo man in shorts and a snow hat walking a chiuhua on a leash. He yells at any people(mostly women) that don't "walk their bike". So I see a Chinese 60yo couple. Woman is walking her bike and yelling at her husband. He deliberates than bikes past this dog walker and doesn't look back as his wife continues walking.

I think eu is problematic because if I live there permanently (i.e. more than 3monnths over 6months period) I have to go a visa and pay local income tax. That defeats the whole purpose of saving on col. Also Portugal is only 5hrs time difference. I'd like at least turkey or Moscow time zone. But more important low col

No, it's more than that. Even a 2% wealth tax is ruinous and makes UMC self-funded retirement essentially impossible.

Suppose you want $150,000 pre-income tax yearly in retirement. At a safe withdrawal rate of 3%, you need a portfolio of $5 million. If there is a wealth tax of 2%, that uses up all but 1% of your safe withdrawal rate, so your new minimum portfolio is $150,000 / 1%, or $15 million. Essentially a 2% wealth tax triples the amount you need to save for retirement.

Greece has a great tax system you can opt into of you take on residency. I think like fixed 10% for up to 10 years. Would consider it

You mean you buy real estate or whatever to get residency. And then this 10% tax(which just means you pay regular American tax to irs but part of it goes to Greece and you have to hire cpa in both countries to avoid double tax). And after 10yrs you have to get out or else get taxed to death...

Anyway if I did this I would be starting work at 11pm est so eu time zone wouldn't work. Dubai, turkey, Moscow have better time zone

You don't have to buy property for the Greek flat tax, but you do have to file to opt in and if you fail to do it early enough, you'll be locked out

But no matter where you move, you're going to have to pay taxes locally if you work there, and no matter where in the world you live and make money, the IRS wants its taste of everything. You can't escape the concern of hiring tax help in both jurisdictions

If I lived in dubai I would only file usa tax. I think most Asian countries, turkey, etc wouldn't bother me if I work remotely for u.s. company. Eu on the hand (i.e. spain) actually makes you file paperwork each time you withdraw cash from bank more than some tiny amount, so eu bank accounts are in fact less safe than bank accounts in 🇷🇺
