My personal injury case lasted for 3 long years and during the whole process, William Hanson rarely communicated with me, he was forgetting a lot of things relative to the case, he kept asking the same questions that I had already answered, he kept requesting information that I had submitted several times. He also appeared to be uncaring and very disconnected with my case and it didn't seem like it was a priority to him. Recently I had Mediation on March 30th, I decided to settled my case out of court, Hanson and the Mediator tried to pressure me into going two more weeks after I said that I wanted to settle, even to the point of insulting my intelligence implying that me wanting to settle my case at that time wasn't a "smart" idea!!! They claim that it takes up to 4 weeks to receive a settlement check, but they said that they would "expedite" it but it's already been 4 weeks and I still haven't received it. Even after we called and told them REPEATEDLY that we had gone with another firm,we got calls and mail that were vaguely threatening,suggesting that our case would be thrown out if we didn't sign up with them. Less knowledgeable clients might have been scared into signing with them. A very shady way of doing business. These ate the lawyers that give lawyers a bad name. Can't speak to their effectiveness, given that we didn't hire them, but their entire process at the start just gave us the willies. Chris Spinelli took my case. i asked him what the statue of limitation is in Virginia, he responded with "we will no longer represent you" i guess i wasn't allowed to ask questions. they look for stupid clients who don't ask any questions! oh and then they had the audacity to bill 500 dollars for copies and printed papers.
