i don't think RVing is a middle class thing these days. it's a prole thing, but it's a rich prole thing. these guys are all established tradesmen, small business owners, or cops and firemen YOLOing their entire paychecks because they have great pensions coming.
also 9 times out of 10 you see someone in a brand new $70k truck, it's a sign they're overextended and have wildly fucked up priorities. i can easily see how a foreigner would miss that. owning a fancy truck here is more of a cultural statement than a financial one.
