Takes a young man or woman's rite of passage into "spiritual maturity" (I think your title switches to Church Elder after, even if they're only 20 something. Funny detail) and weds it to a proselytizing/outreach/community building thing. Some of their theology is quite strange but as far as a sensibly and intelligently designed religious "corporation" goes they do far better than most other christian sects in the US today I've been flipping through a couple of ex/anti-mormon sites and forums to see the other side of this group from insider perspectives but the median complaint against it seems pretty tame |
