I could tell where the hive was based on where I saw the wasps flying, but I couldn't get eyes on it without getting attacked. I could only squirt diatomaceous earth into the crevice and wait for it to do its thing. These weren't aggressive wasps and the hive wasn't in a bad location, so I could afford to sit back and watch.
WEEKS after I sprayed the DE in there, wasps were still flying in and out of that crevice. I finally went in there to take a look today, since wasps are long gone by now, and sure I enough the entire hive and all the surrounding area had a thick coat of DE on it. I didn't miss a thing. These wasps were swimming in a sea of DE and it didn't kill them. I also didn't find a single goddamn dead wasp anywhere.
