i think it was partly because the actual music video had some silly inspector gadget kind of gags, and it didn't go over well in '85. |

there was a period around 84-86 when they really perfected that 80s gated drum sound and they were building whole tracks around the drums. I think of Sunday Bloody Sunday, In the Air Tonight, The Power Station (which was a Duran Druan spinoff) etc. |
