A luxury hotel in Hawaii is already like $1500/night
What activities are you talking about? People just go there to eat, shop and stay at fancy hotels
The beaches are empty or filled with locals

Total fucking waste to do some luxury bullshit in Hawaii on your own dime. Just live like the locals and eat awesome fresh fish and shrimp and poke and chill at the beach. Do the white lotus crap in a 3rd world country (where you don’t want to leave the reservation anyway) for a fraction of the cost due to the slave wages.

Randomly drove to south point on the big island one time. Just followed the gps until we reached the bottommost tip of the US on gps. It’s a cattle ranch with dirt roads. Looks like west Texas with a Pacific view. Had to park and walk out to the beach where the actual southernmost point is. Anyway, on the walk back we saw locals fishing off the top of a high sea cliff. Major bolted down fishing gear. We stood and watched and talked with them for almost two hours. They thought they had an epic ahi, but it turned out to be a shark and they just let it go. They were giving us beers out of the coolers. Tons of stories like this. GET THE
FURK OUT OF WAIKIKI.

People need to realize this isn't something you are entitled to do 4x per year or 2x per year or even annually if you are in a certain income bracket. Historically if you look at the 80s and 90s a middle income family with 3 kids visited Disney maybe once before the kids turned 18. We need to go back to that.
Instagram and YouTube drive tons of wasteful consumption through envy.

I agree Disney is too much of a money grab, but posts like this are annoying.
Disney tickets are obviously expensive. But if you look on the website, you can get a 3 day ticket for $250. You'll need to add the lightning lane, but that's still like $350.
So its probably less than a plane ticket per person to go for 3 days. Concert tickets are $250 now, and bowling is $40 per person.
Beyond the price of tickets, the rest is this guy's own stupidity. Disney food is not that expensive really. Looking up a casual restaurant at Magic Kingdom, the burrito bowl is $12.99 and the kids meal is $8.50. That's not that much more than a Chipotle. Moreover, you can bring your own food so you could just get Jersey Mike's and eat it for lunch.
Of course it is expensive if you go to Disney with 7 people and do 3 waiter service meals and get snacks and toys every 2 hours. But it would be similarly expensive to do that not in Disney.

Who cares? There's not a single tourist destination on Earth that is not happy to take more money for you.
The price of admission to Disney is literally... the price of admission - which in your case should've been $1,750 - which includes the lightning lane.
Disney's budget hotels are less than $200 a night most of the year. That's in line with hotel prices anywhere else you'd want to go. Again, its food prices are not materially higher than Chipotle for its main restaurants.
No one is disputing that you can spend $1,000/night at the nicest hotel, or $400 at the Bippity Boutique for your little girl to get her make up done, or $70 a person for some character breakfast. But anywhere in the world you can spend that much at the Four Seasons, drop $300 on a massage, and end up spending $150/pp on dinner.
