Didn't come across many tour groups. Seems still off the beaten path for jeets and east Asians. Tourists were primarily brits, spaniards and Germans. Major plus.

University area is shit and tdnw is 💯 that people piss against the portico walls. Old town had it a bit but University area much more.

Portico system means no unbearable beating sun on you for 15 hours per day like everywhere else in Italy. Major plus.

Great food. Had a mix of broke people food and rich people food. One restaurant was one of the best meals I have ever had. Just fucking incredible and I didn't eat anything pasta-y.

Lots of the big sites were under construction like ave independenceand Neptune statue so that kind of sucked.

Otherwise recommended for people who want to go to Italy but not like that, not with them

Then an eggplant dish that was essentially veggie lasagna but was just compressed eggplant steak with these buff, vinegar, and basil pearls. Unfathomable how delicious this was and I don't even like eggplant.

Seriously considered just going back there daily

I also don't "like" eggplant yet I keep finding it delicious in all kinds of different dishes

a few weeks ago in a random Taiwanese restaurant in the Marshall Islands of all places they had this stir-fried eggplant with chili and basil and I anticipated it would be weird and unpleasant but it was so completely delicious I've been looking for recipes to try to make it myself

And my eurorail pass for 330 plus fraud seat fees so maybe 400 total covered all travel almost
