The 14-inch Macbook Pros are DEFECTIVE and need to go back

The 14-inch models have fans but they're not enough to keep the CPU with tolerable limits. Run LLMs or something and it's going to spike to 95C and throttle down to 1.8ghz. People are paying $2000-$5000 for laptops full of CPUs that throttle 24/7, and the only reason they don't notice is because they never use the computer to do shit except email. plus it's a fucking laptop. it's not a watercooled vapor chamber cryogenic desktop that can be overclocked without issue. you bought the wrong computer for running anything beyond a modest LLM |

The RAM needs to be soldered onto thick ass lanes to the CPU/GPU/NPU/whatever, and you don't want to do it on an old Skylake Xeon, but really is just about RAM. Unfortunately, even with TSMC 3nm silcon Apple struggles to keep these chips cool. There's also an M4 Ultra that RIPS, but you can only get it in a studio Mac, and you may as well get a used M2 Ultra or even an M1. I believe M1 Ultras still beat M4 Pros at a lot of tasks. |

Was the weirdest fucking thing ever and no idea how it happened or how metal casing permanently got bent without any other exterior damage or impact to the screen. The guy at Microcenter was completely baffled |
