you need to be sure you can control that and turn it off when you need to. i wasn't able to, and i left my wife/family and my whole life blew up (i went to jail and the psych ward before drying out). i luckily got everything back, but most women would have written me off.

i sobered up about a year later (after going to jail for DV, and the cops taking me to the psych ward a couple months after). once i got sober i realized what i'd done and that i actually still loved my wife. long story short, i un-fucked the situation, but this was a 1 in 1000 odds kinda outcome.
