He was trying to get blanket coverage to search for this guy's cell phone pinging off the tower and the judge was like fuk u, you get an hour. He was telling me how he narrowed down the time frame and shit and at this point he lost me it was some straight Jigsaw John shit he was talkin about ring cameras and geolocation and shit it sounded super complicated.
Anyway he got the search warrant for that hour and he got the suspect's phone pinging. It was an armed robbery of some guy selling Jordan's on Instagram. It was an inside job somebody knew the guy and where he'd be and shit. Buddy sold him out and these guys busted down the door and stole all his sneakers. The suspects almost got away but this dude got picked up on a weed charge a few weeks later and the whole case unraveled.
My buddy said husband favorite part of the job is confronting them with the evidence in the interrogation room. He told the guy we got so much evidence on you we don't even need the confession. The guy said "Go fuck yourself" and my buddy said "No thanks" and walked away. He said he was grinning ear to ear for the rest of the day. |
