So, uh, anyway, who wants to talk about horror movies?

what's your favorite movie that totally flew under everyone's radar (horror or not) that you don't get why nobody likes it?
I've always had a soft spot for The New Guy

YOU are simping for gjr, who publicly embarassed and emasculated
YOU have NO JOB
that's not "compliance" as in a compliance officer. you dont even know the difference between a bank account and routing number. you act like nsam opining on the law against actual lawyers. you're a dunning kruger tufts grad, profoundly mentally ill, unemployed, and the biggest simpcuck this bort has seen. and we've seen a lot.
hth.

I should
Demons and Demons 2 are both super kooky zombie movies with great soundtracks (first one is metal, second is goth rock and post-punk) about a movie that turns people into angry demons
They're just hilarious great times. Argento wrote both of them and Lamberto Bava made them. The platonic ideal of mid-80s Italo-horror. Loads of gore and fun special effects, lots of MTV attitude, but without the more unpleasant elements that sometimes detract from Italian hack-o-ramas.

ty for the rec
loved the music and 80s vibe/aesthetic- at quite a few points i felt like i was watching a sequel to michael jacksons thriller video. fun shots/camera work in a few scenes. lol'd at the helicopter and escaping thru the roof. was overall kooky and fun.
is the sequel as good?

Two anthologies that are out of print but easy to find second hand are The Dark Descent and Foundations of Fear
It’s a really good overview of horror fiction up thru the mid 1980s or so and combines the people you’d expect like King and Barker with some very classy stuff you wouldn’t necessarily think of as “horror”.
For something a little more visceral seek out a copy of Silver Scream; this was an 80s anthology of movie themed stories and it’s all over the place in terms of tone and content but every single story is a banger.

Yeah, it's weird. And Kirk Hammett is the custodian of all the world's horror history and memorabilia. I worked with a guy whose whole house was dedicated to horror stuff. He was a artsy, crafty kind of guy and made/traded props and replicas of all kind of shit: monsters, costumes, weapons, pretty much anything he wants.
I don't know how I would describe what I like, maybe by what I don't like? No interest in cape shit, horror, anime, and largely don't care about fantasy/sci-fi.
Ironically, one of my favorite movies is The Crow. I guess I like romance.

I liked it
It was more entertaining than Crimes of the Future but not as memorable overall

Thoughts on Film Noir/Neo Noir as a genre?
Thoughts on the classics - Le Samouraï, Chinatown, The Big Sleep, The Long Goodbye, LA Confidential

I haven’t seen most of those and should
I love the grifters
I need to watch more classic noir
One recommendation I have is The Big Combo which is a 1827738282 movie

I will check it out. I am a fan of Dogme 95 in general. I liked Breaking the Waves a lot as well as Thomas Vinterberg's Festen. I will watch any dark Scandinavian film.
I just saw Låt Den Rätte Komma In (A Triumph, which MPA would like because it has horror elements!) as well as the Norwegian version of Insomnia (which dunks on the Chris Nolan version imo).
Dark City was awesome if albeit a somewhat flawed film. Great atmosphere film but not enough gritty REALISM for my subjective taste (noirs have to REALISTIC imo imo).
