It's chill; still feels like it's in the past in a fun way
I'm a midcentury designmo so that's the main draw for me
cablecar up to mt san jacinto is 180
good restaurants
joshua tree is nearby and fun for hiking

It still seems kind of attainable in a way in terms of affordability; you can buy an old suburban American dream home for not a ton of money
Also the airport is 180; it’s mostly open air with tents for roofs.

we were there this weekend too. it was a good time. we avoided nightlife though. probably could have had a gay (mega pun) old time if we wanted to go out. The scene at the restaurants was good but the food was all this similar sort of bland american cuisine. didn't get a chance to make it to Rooster and Pig. next time we might just stay out at Joshua Tree. The town was fun and good to see once but probably not too much reason to go back. although, maybe if we gave the party scene a chance and went golfing or to the wave pool that could be cool. actually, there's tons of reason to go back. yeah PS was a solid 172
edit: we are Bay Area mos so it was too fucking hot though
