White supremacist faces jail for setting up 'vile' and 'racist' podcast from his Welsh home

James Allchurch used phrases like 'jungle bunny' and 'negros' when addressing his listeners

A white supremacist from west Wales who praised Adolf Hitler and set up a “highly racist” and “anti-Semitic” podcast from his home has been warned he faces jail after being found guilty of using “vile” and “inexcusable” language on a podcast he set up from his home.

James Allchurch, aged 51 and of Gelli in Pembrokeshire, distributed recordings on a radio station he set up from his home called Radio Aryan, which later changed its name to Radio Albion. A trial at Swansea Crown Court heard how he “was responsible for the creation of a number of audio files of highly racist and anti-semitic nature that were uploaded to a website and made available to the public”.

Allchurch was arrested at his home in December 2019 and admitted to police that he was the host of the podcast. Among the opinions he shared online, he said that, while Jewish people were “mistreated by the Nazis”, they were not sent to the gas chamber. He also said that “no other race is equal to the white race” and that “London is full of savages”. You can read more from the court case here:

Allchurch said on his show that “15 to 20% of British people have now been replaced by foreigners” - some of whom, he added, “rape our children and turn them into sex slaves”. He also refereed to black people as “negros” and rejected Tommy Robinson and others for being “too moderate”. He also advocated the "repatriation" of non white people from the UK. And he was often joined by co-hosts and guests such as the co-founder of banned fascist group National Action Alex Davies.

During his defence, he insisted that he was not a racist and that he felt "sympathy" for non-whites - because he claimed they had lower intellects. He also claimed his broadcasters were not aimed at spreading hate, but highlighting the problems of multi-culturalism. However, despite saying he had no problems with Muslims, he said in open court that he could "never work with them".

Allchurch denied 15 counts of distributing audio material to stir up racial hatred, and said that when using the phrase “jungle bunny” he was merely “trying to be humorous”. However, a jury, which retired on Friday morning and returned on Friday afternoon, found him guilty on 10 counts and not guilty on five others. After the verdict was given, Judge Huw Rees warned Allchurch that he faced a considerable prison sentence that would be measured “not in months”, and that the language he had used on his show was a “stain on our humanity”.

Allchurch will be sentenced at Swansea Crown Court on Friday, April 28.
