Sanders and AOC want to freeze the construction of all AI data centers in the United States.

We need to understand what's really happening. This isn't just another political battle. It's the final convulsion of a worldview that has unconsciously realized it's doomed.

Socialism isn't an economic theory. It's a moral structure that needs three things to exist:

1. Scarcity to redistribute

2. Victims to defend

3. A class of intermediaries to orchestrate it all

Remove just one of these three pillars and the whole edifice collapses. AI is removing all three at once.

Scarcity first. For 200 years, political economy has revolved around one question: how to distribute limited production? Marx, Keynes, Piketty—all build on that postulate. But AI reverses the equation. The marginal cost of intelligence is trending toward zero. The production of software, design, analysis, code, soon even manufactured goods via advanced robotics— all of that becomes nearly free. In a world of abundance, the question "who deserves what" loses its meaning. There's nothing left to arbitrate.

Victims next. AI is the greatest equalizer of access to knowledge and skills in human history. A kid in the middle of nowhere in Bangladesh today has access to the same tutor as the heir to a New York family. A solo developer produces what a team of 20 did three years ago. Barriers are crumbling. But without structural victims, there's no cause to defend, no moral mandate to wield.

Intermediaries last. This is the sorest point for them. Socialism has always needed a caste: activist-journalists, expert-bureaucrats, prescriptive NGOs, redistributing politicians. That caste lives off claiming to translate reality to the masses. AI makes that translation obsolete. Everyone can query the source directly, verify a figure, compare models, simulate public policy. The monopoly on interpretation is dead.

That's why I say AI is a catalyst for truth. It doesn't create truth—it makes it uninterpretable. Systems that produce value become visible. Those that capture it without producing it become visible too. The veil falls.

And that's what's unbearable. Not the loss of power—the loss of meaning. Realizing that your worldview, your activism, your entire career rested on an edifice that held together only through scarcity and opacity. It's a narcissistic wound of abyssal depth.

The reaction is mechanical: block the catalyst. Not for rational reasons (the "energy" argument is laughable when you see their positions on nuclear power). For existential reasons. The future must be prevented from arriving, because the future erases them.

300 local laws. A federal moratorium. European moratoriums (AI Act). The pattern is the same everywhere: slow down, stall, regulate, tax. Not smart regulation—paralysis.

But they've already lost. And deep down, they know it. China won't stop. The Emirates won't stop. India, Singapore, Milei's Argentina, certain U.S. states—no one will stop. Blocking data center construction in San Francisco just shifts the center of gravity. The only net effect is to impoverish those they claim to defend.

It's the dead cat bounce. One last spasm before definitive stillness.

PS: All is not lost for them. The door is open. They just need to understand that creating value is more rewarding than redistributing it, that building is more powerful than denouncing, and that entrepreneurship is the only contemporary form of political action that truly changes the world. Conversion is possible. It starts with accepting one simple thing: no one needs you to be saved. But many people need you to build.
