Incredibly good-looking, successful nd wants me to move to Falls Church, VA

So I've found myself in an LDR...again. but this guy lives in Falls Church, VA which is a nice but boring suburb of DC. He wants me to move down there with him. He has a really lucrative job at a F500 company o it makes more sense for me to move than him to come to NYC (I have been working remotely ever since I got my new job last April and will be doing so for the foreseeable future).
So... I love him and am willing to leave my life and friends and family to be with him but... I do not want to live in the burbs. I want him to sell his house and move to DC. Is this too much to ask? I'm sacrificing to be with him and all that I ask is that we live in the city. It will be easier for him as well since he works in DC and he won't have to commute anymore. He doesn't want to move though and he says we will need a house once we marry and have kids so it makes no sense to move.

He doesn't care bc all he does is play tennis and golf and he belongs to a country club there but I want restaurants, nightlife, shopping etc. He tells me to grow up and says those things won't matter since we plan to have kids in a few years anyway. |

I don't know, old people stuff.

In fact I don’t think you should have them at all if you’re lukewarm about them. Kids are irreversible and a big ass deal and not for people who don’t really want kids IMO.
I don’t think you should marry anyone you’re not passionately into. My advice is don’t move and dump him. Marriage is a compromise and a partnership but you need more than deeply caring about someone. Ive been in those relationships and married someone I’m passionate about and firmly believe you can’t do it any other way. |
