Sherlock Holmes was a failure dressed as a prodigy. He didn't stop crime -- he autopsied it for applause. His "deductions" were smug conjecture reverse-engineered into brilliance, always too late to matter. He let suffering unfold so he could arrive fashionably incisive. Holmes wasn't a hero. He was crime's performative voyeur.
