I still have faith you can get there. I drank a sixer of high-ABV beer every work night for about five years plus more on the weekend. Within three years of that, however, my daily work day drinking schedule was:

8-10am: 1-2 tall boys

11-1pm: 3 high ABV beers and three shots of whiskey

1-5p: nurse a pint at the office/car

5-9p: one pint regular whiskey and one half-pint of flavored whiskey

I drank more on the weekends - at least a fifth plus beers - but that was my workweek stack.

So, don’t give up, OP, I believe in you. If I did it, you can too.

(Minor counterpoint: not usually high ABV. And OP almost certainly started with regular beer. He’s now progressed to high-ABV only and he is also somewhat concerned about his drinking, which most people never are).
