TBH Shakira should already been in as well. She has been an international superstar for decades. And you don't really have to bend the definition of "rock 'n roll" very much to make the case.

haha fair enough. in case you get bored, though:
Rock music is a genre of popular music that originated in the United States as "rock and roll" in the late 1940s and early 1950s, developing into a range of styles from the mid-1960s, primarily in the United States and United Kingdom. It has its roots in rock and roll, a style that drew from the African-American musical genres of blues and rhythm and blues, as well as from country music. Rock also drew strongly from genres such as electric blues and folk, and incorporated influences from jazz and other styles. Rock is typically centered on the electric guitar, usually as part of a rock group with electric bass guitar, drums, and one or more singers.

Yeah, I have that same feeling with 90s gangster rap and emo. I have a tendency to have tunnel vision when it comes to music. I pick a band and then decide that's the only thing that matters and write off everything else.
i made this thread hoping you would see it and respond.

An under discussed reason steroid guys are banned from the hall of fame is because of this lady (granddaughter of the founder is opposed, and has basically told the writers they shouldn’t vote for them )

some members of Iron Maiden have shat on the RnR HoF for years. here's their statement yesterday:
===
“We’d like to thank the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for including us (and former members who were all part of our story) in the 2026 roll call of inductees. Iron Maiden have always been about our relationship with our fans above anything else, including awards and industry accolades. However, having said that, it’s always nice to be recognised and honoured for any achievements within the music industry too!
It also seems appropriate for the band to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year as we continue our 50th anniversary celebrations with our Run For Your Lives World Tour visiting the Americas and beyond. We would also like to congratulate our fellow 2026 inductees and extend our gratitude as ever to our fans for their loyalty, perseverance and support for over 50 years now! See you all, somewhere on tour.”
