your points about obama, etc are well taken, however i don't think theres a material difference between iran and libya or syria. we've rotated through villains in the middle east for decades. based on kamalas unequivocal pledges to support israel, i dont think she would have resisted pressure to get involved.

libya and syria the same? first of all europe took the lead on libya. There was widespread western support for protecting civilians. Far different situation here where no other western power is standing with the US. And libya was not a regional power capable of anything in response. The obama admin resisted action in syria. It was limited to protecting kurds in the northeast. Again, no risk of syria attacking neighbors or US bases. This is the Trump Admin following aggressive Israeli foreign policy that is not supported in the West outside of certain shitcon circles. |
