Time spent chatting or using other AI tools for legal analysis, document drafting, and the like are very often billable time. Does anyone specifically mention that it's AI time?

I don't. I record it as analysis, drafting, research strategy, whatever.

It’s just another tool. Do you ever list Microsoft office or westlaw specifically?

Nope. But sometimes I see kooky in-house lawyers who go out of their way to say things like, "I wouldn't even consider outside counsel who don't use AI to be more efficient." It made me wonder whether lawyers were using time records to address things like that.

Yeah it's kind of like the sound of one hand clapping. Hard yl wrap your head around two equally worthless activates for my client but one they pay me a lot for. Although they unwittingly pay for both.
