And of course in this relationship, Man also has the ability to plea for mercy and understanding, where God is willing to consider the input of mere mortals. And Abraham is flawed throughout, showing that God is loving(ish) and will make room for human failings, which are also in part God’s failings.
It establishes faith as a partnership, between a divine father and devoted servant.
