I used to think they were for losers, but basically 100% of babies and toddlers wear them - and then like 90% of 8 year olds, i assume many teens will too.
I started wearing with my kids and it is great - we're at the pool a lot so it'd probably be guaranteed cancer at some point without one.
Plus I don't have to worry about everyone having to stare at my hairy paunchy body.

When I was a kid wearing a shirt in the pool was for fat losers.
But now every single baby swimsuit comes with a shirt - so parents just keep that up. They don't go "Well I guess the kid is 3 now - he should just get skin cancer to look cool."
Because of this, at least 60% of the males in any pool are wearing swim shirts - whereas it was like 5% when we were growig up.
