She's only 4 but she is taller than most of the boys in her class. Any tips on raising a tall girl? I'm only 5'6" (female) but husband is 6'1". Looks like my kid might end up tall

When is her birthday?
At that age, the oldest kids in a class will be basically 20% older than the youngest kids in the class.
If she's on the older end, it may largely this.

she's in the middle of her pre-k class in terms of age
my husband's family is german though and his sisters are like 5'9"....my female cousin is 6'1" (and my biological aunt is 6'3") so i have some dormant tall genes as well
my bio aunt (6'3") married a dude who is 6'5" and their daughter (my second cousin?) ended up 6'4"...not flame.

is that even true? i was legit always the shortest in my class and only had a growth spurt in high school, so i dunno
i was also the youngest, but for real, i was like the shortest and only grew to 5'6" in high school

k that's good. fwiw i don't want my girl to be 5'10"--those women look like men
ideally she ends up 5'7" and size 2 or whatever

issue is most of those are not size 2
at some point you look like a linebacker
5'7", size 2 are the hottest (based on my oogling of women over the years)

it's not just about weight, but also about bone structure
lot of tall women 5'9"+ have wider shoulders/upper bodies

biological female here.
most of the time, in childhood, girls grow faster/earlier than boys, and then boys catch up when puberty hits.
anecdotal, but i will still share: i was the tallest kid in my class from kindergarten until 9th grade, when i stopped growing.
i remember in middle school specifically our basketball team had 3 girls that were taller than any of the boys on the boys basketball team.
im 5 9. my mom is 5 6 and my dad is 6 2.
i dont think you have anything to worry about re: your dotter. i doubt she'll be freakishly tall.

k ty
my female cousin is 6'1" and I've seen how hard it is for her. she either dates super short men who have drug problems or tall 6'4"+ abusive assholes. there's no in between.

personally i'd just get your dotter into sports that will ensure she stays lean no matter how tall she gets. that's really the most important thing.

i live in flyover so not too many opportunities
she does swimming too (mainly just to learn the basics though) and she did skiing this winter as well.
my husband loves winter sports so she'll prob be in skiing forever.
i'll see if we have diving around here

if youre in flyover, diving will likely be way more hassle than its worth
casual swimming, regular ballet, and winter skiing will prob keep her in fantastic shape. just keep a close eye on her diet.
good luck!

my female cousin is 6'1" and is close to 40 and still single after dating a series of complete losers
dating is tough for women who are 6'1" even if they have everything else going for them

No flame, if she's on track to be any taller than 5'9", you can (and should) put her on estrogen to stunt her growth with (relatively) minimal side effects.
Tall women get absolutely ASSFUCKED in the dating world unless they're model level hot.
Not a bad as being a shortmo guy, but not that far off.

most tall girls are build too big to be models. that's the problem with being over 5'7" tbh
