In today's case, it started out with the wife's lawyer instructing her to get a fraudulent TRO to get my guy out of the house and limit his parenting time. This is his MO which I've seen play out dozens of times. I would never do this because it harms a child who has no voice in the litigation.
I'm also taking over a case from a lawyer who billed his client $350k despite never having met her in person even once, taking no depositions, and doing zero trial preparation (trial has not even been scheduled).
The family law practice has more than its fair share of grifters preying on vulnerable people. It is a particularly immoral way to make a living because people are trusting you to guide them through a very difficult personal transition and, as noted above, children's lives are at stake. |

that doesn't have to be the case. maybe I am a shitlib on this, but for profit divorce law doesn't need to/probably shouldn't exist. judges are employees of the state and are supposed to be neutral, even if a lot of times they aren't. |
