Basically the blueprint for the first couple Friday the 13th movies; the second one stole half the kills from it.
It's partially an Agatha Christie style murder mystery involving the inheritance of a nice piece of real estate, but it's really a proto-slasher/giallo with a mean sense of humor, some snazzy music, some great tits, and some very gnarly kills. And it's impeccably '70s Italian: There's more turtlenecks and bottles of J&B and modernist sculptures than you can imagine.

just watched
it was pretty good, but at times i had trouble staying interested/focused on it. can definitely see the influence on later horror movies, especially the f13 series.
everyone sucks and everyone dies horror films are fun. i enjoyed the scene with the kids at the end.

Yeah
It's actually a pretty fun twisty little giallo plot but you don't really get the benefit of it until the end when they're explaining everything in flashbacks. Would have been more fun IMO to have a little bit more of that upfront.
The ending scene is a classic, agreed.
I really had fun with the entomologist and his fortune teller wife.
